About you:

- The mezcal category lead will be responsible for overseeing the transportation and warehousing operations within the supply chain. This role ensures that products are efficiently and effectively stored, transported, and delivered to meet customer demands while maintaining cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.

Function:
Transportation Management responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize delivery routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
- Carrier Management: Select, negotiate with, and partner well with transportation carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety standards and environmental policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators related to transportation efficiency, cost, and service levels. Implement corrective actions as needed.

Warehouse Management responsibilities
- Storage Optimization: Design efficient warehouse layouts to improve space utilization and streamline operations.
- Inventory Control: Lead all aspects of inventory management practices to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and reduce holding costs.
- Safety Standards: Maintain high safety standards within the warehouse environment by implementing protocols and conducting regular audits.

Leadership & Team Management
- Third Party Collaboration: Indirectly lead and work closely with the logistics third-party team ensuring they met all Diageo standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with procurement, production planning, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Experience / Skills / Capabilities / Languages:

- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in logistics management or a related field. Experience in both transportation and warehousing is essential.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) are desirable

Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective key partner management.
- Proficiency in logistics software systems (e.g., TMS/WMS).
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The success of this role will be measured by:
Reduction in transportation costs without compromising service quality. Improved warehouse space utilization rates. Increased accuracy in inventory levels. Enhanced delivery times meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
