The position manages a team of 4 to 20 accountants. Fluent in English Degree in Accounting or Finance Applicable Accounting Certification Preferred. At least intermediate English (600 pts TOEIC). Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.- Selects, trains and develops a staff of employees and administers a budget.- Coordinates and directs the monthly general ledger closing process, ensuring that the financial records are maintained in accordance with standard accounting principles. Evaluates the general ledger system assuring it provides accurate and timely information for use by divisional and corporate management.- Assesses impact of new or revised corporate ventures, projects, policies, and procedures on the accounting framework of the company, including all subsystems, reporting impact to appropriate management.- Evaluates and implements revisions to accounting systems, policies and procedures.- Analyzes all balance sheet account reconciliation's monthly, and related revenue and expense account activity for use by divisional and corporate management.- Coordinates and directs the ongoing financial relationships with FedEx GSPs in accordance with FedEx policy and contractual requirements including accounts payable/disbursements; accounts receivable/collections; net settlements; duty & tax advancements, reimbursements, and bill shippers; and all related processand systems interfaces.- Plans, evaluates and directs projects to assess the impact of new or alternative accounting treatments and/or to provide specific information needed by senior management as decision-making criteria.- Analyzes subsidiary financials assuring results are properly stated and all local statutory requirements are in compliance.- Ensures that adequate internal financial and accounting controls exist throughout various Latin America operations.- Acts as liaison and directs outside auditors in preparation of audit work papers and variance analyses and provides other information and analyses as requested.- Coordinates and directs all vendor disbursement and vendor accounting, payroll disbursement and administrative processes, ensuring that all transactions are accurate, timely, and in accordance with US GAAP, FedEx policy, contractual requirements and/or local laws
