TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

**Responsibilities**:
Must be familiar with mold design fundamentals, plastics materials and injection molding. Must be able to work as a team member with remote sites and outside vendors. Individual to be an organized, self-starter and require minimum supervision. The Manufacturing Development Engineer should have strong written and oral skills as they will be required to interface with team members, suppliers, business units, customers and sales.
**Job Functions**:
Coordinate design review processes from concept to final release.
Understand inspection data of molded parts and facilitate the conditioning processes to release of tooling to production.
Resolving tool and design problems when working in 2D & 3D model environments
Estimating tooling and process costs.
**Basic Requirement**:
Mechanical, Plastics or Manufacturing Engineering Degree
+5 years of experience with EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), LSR or thermoset molding.
Experience with mold design, development, and manufacturing deployment.
Competency with CAD and other 3-D modeling and metrology software desired (Pro/E or Creo, Volume Graphics is preferred)
Must be experienced in Scientific Injection Molding (Master Molder certified is preferred)
Must be proficient in the English language.
Participate in PFMEA reviews.
Run initial studies of the molding process and control variables from test to test.
