.TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.**What your background should look like**:**Responsibilities**- Lead the implementation of significant process improvement and standardization initiatives to drive cost savings by challenging existing ways of working. Actively engage all stakeholders and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies.- Leverage low cost country supplier opportunities to drive standardization, process improvement and improved technical capability across global business units.- Drive the supply chain success by taking cost, service and quality as the main lead measurement for all supply base.- Conducts frequent site visits (factory/plant visits) for due diligence checks and quality assurance on potential suppliers.- Act as the project manager for large scale strategic sourcing projects leading cross functional teams to drive sourcing events to successful completion.- Lead, motivate and develop a professional Procurement team, setting clear priorities and allocating resources in order to ensure results are delivered in line with expectations.- Focus on developing the team into commercially savvy future leaders and raising the bar on performance through rewarding good performance and dealing with underperformance at pace.- Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholder and suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement and drive best practices globally.- Align the BU supply base strategy with Corporate wide commodity strategy to leverage business negotiations, terms and prices.- Drive and direct the supply base strategy in all NPI launches to ensure sustainability for the company and profit objectives.**Requirements**:- Extensive knowledge of procurement or strategic sourcing processes. Experience in commodity management.- Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to promote change within an organization. Capable of leading and coordinating a cross functional team of (possibly) remotely located, multicultural professionals. Experience as a people manager or supervisor preferred
