The Mold Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining molds for injection or compression molding of plastic products in a clean room environment.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Using company software, monitor and track progress of job towards completion
- Follow written as well as verbal line ups
- File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify molds ,dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools
- Inspect finished molds for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
- Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers
- Set up and operate drill presses, surface grinders, manual mills, lathes to manufacture and or modify parts for assembly
- Perform final assembly of the mold
- Repair and fitting of tool components and assembly of components into mold base for finished tool
- Broad knowledge of molding and mold repair with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
- Complete mold inspection check list
- Notify management of any problems or delays that will impact the company's ability to support established goals
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering field is a must
- 5+ years' experience in mold or tool repair related experience in a manufacturing environment; clean room environment experience a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Nissei, Engel, Arbug or Mitsubishi injection molding machines
- Ability to work overtime on weekend if needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
