Engineering Service provider for OCS Injection Molding Process standardizing processes, deployment of best practices and introduction of new technologies to improve customer satisfaction while maintaining a cost competitive advantage .
Major responsibilities and tasks of the position. The task for the molding process Engineer is to define, install and control the right process methodology to have a stable production with the right quality approach in the cheapest manner in our Molding facilities to support OCS Molding strategy. Scientific molding techniques proven experience Molding Technologies: The candidate should use all existing technologies, materials, processes and automation which exists in house and contribute to develop new innovative processes for Corning. Contribute to align best practices within all OCS molding facilities by following, promoting, and enhancing Product Quality Architecture principles. Use of data analytics to propose and implement actions to improve areas of opportunity to improve quality and cost of the products we manufacture. Identify process trends and variations through a systematic process monitoring and data analysis Prepare and conduct Technical training sessions for Molding personnel as needed Molding Projects: Deliver projects within the Injection molding area as assigned. Projects are related to injection molding including machinery, molds, resin and automation projects among others. Internal and External Customers. Internal. External providers Personnel Directed. Molding Engineer B band, Molding Technician AA, BB, CC 5. Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements. Education. Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Manufacturing/Operations) Preferred a degree with emphasis in Plastic Injection Molding or related Work Experience +5 years' of technical experience in manufacturing environment related to Molding, tooling and equipment maintenance, product development and product introduction. +3 years' managerial experience Acting Decisively Financial Analysis & Management (Manufacturing) Manufacturing Strategy Formation and Execution Self-motivated and driven Inspiring and Motivating Others Act with Integrity and Authenticity Be Confident and Adaptable Champion Change and Flexibility Establish Direction and Create Commitment Foster Innovation and Risk Taking Leverage Talent Focus on Customers Drive Deployment Prioritizing and Organizing Work Working with Ambiguity Problem solving Additional Skills. English is required Experience in molding process development Experience with tooling and IMM maintenance Knowledge of measurements and metrology Experience with ERP systems (preferred SAP) Experience of MES software (Preferred MATTEC) Proficient in MS Office Project management experience, including developing project scope, budgets, and schedules Project leadership skills, including multi-cultural teams Experience with P&L and managing budgets Strong decision making and leadership experience and skills including ability to lead and work well with people from diverse backgrounds Able to make presentations to department and key company management Partner closely with internal customers around the world to meet customer requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong initiative Able to motivate and develop people Experience coaching and mentoring technical employees Experience in Lean Manufacturing and productivity projects 6-Sigma Equivalent certification Statistical tools such as statistical process control, hypothesis testing, sampling plans, capability analysis, experimental design, and analysis Knowledge in change management and documentation control systems Understanding of Process Control and Process Discipline tools Ability to engage with shop floor personnel and with plant leadership Able to communicate through remote means (conference calls, email, IM) Professional written and spoken communication
