In this role, and under direct supervision of the Power Electronics Mechanical Design Engineering Supervisor, the eHW Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will technically lead the Mechanical Design Team of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter Systems for various global automotive customers.Key responsibilitiesMechanical design of Hybrid/Electric Inverter and Converter SystemsPowertrain, Driveline and Packaging of electronics and Circuit BoardsDesign mechanical components in compliance with the BorgWarner Specs of DesignDesign Mechanical product and components to meet customer specificationsPerform, lead and coach mechanical analysis and verificationThermal ManagementVibration CapabilityThermal ShockTolerance StackDocument Mechanical design based on ASPICE process.Develop and interface with supply base in support of program needs and purchasing initiativesInterface with customer as neededProvide written and oral presentations as neededFollow a structured problem-solving approach to resolve issuesWhat we're looking forBachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (or related)Minimum 7+ years - Mechanical hardware design experience3Y Automotive Electronics experience is highly preferredExperience with automotive environmental and durability requirementsExperience with NX or similar CAD applicationsExperience with analysis tools (preferred)Familiar with requirements gathering and management tools such as Polarion and JIRA.Excellent soft skills and highly exposed to teamwork.Mentors the less experienced; role model for BW BeliefsProcess focused on high communication skills.SafetyThis position will adhere to the Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the local BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires.
