**Opportunity**
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer is responsible for contacting vendors and analyze each vendor considering the capacity, service, quality, and price to satisfy the needs of internal customers. Constantly update a list of available vendors and materials.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contact vendors for RFQs and general information of their products, service, and pricing.
Compare quotes considering service, response time, warranties, and prices for best landed Cost.
Always looking to fulfilling the needs of the internal customer and company Goals.
Review and confirm purchasing requisitions information to understand the request.
Expedite and follow up all indirect material purchasing orders.
Evaluate present and potential new suppliers considering quality, service and price.
Prepare reports monitoring purchasing activity and vendor performance.
Prepare end keep files: new or potential suppliers, purchasing orders based on promised delivery dates.
Direct communication with requestors to clearly understand and fulfill their needs.
Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position (See Responsibilities chart by position).
New vendors internal process initiation and Completion.
**Skills/Requirements**
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
**Education**:
Preference Bachelor´s degree / or equivalent with experience
**Experience**:
Preference 5 years' experience as indirect materials buyer, experience in negotiating with suppliers and familiarity with manufacturing operations.
Formation:
Preference material, logistics background. Bilingual required.
