Provide manufacturing engineering technical support to ensure that new products are manufactured satisfactorily, ensuring the viability and functionality of the molds, material, and tooling.
- Provides support in the selection of materials for new products as well as the required tooling.
- Responsible for reviewing the client's or internal product drawings and determining if the design meets manufacturing feasibility before, during, and after mold runs.
- Responsible for determining the safety measures of the mold to be run and the product to be manufactured that guarantee the physical safety of the molding operator.
- Provides technical support in activities with external sources including laboratories, material suppliers, and tooling suppliers.
- Responsible for evaluating CAD models and drawings of new tool designs for manufacturability feasibility and implementation of tools in the plant. Also responsible for evaluating issues with tooling and managing major tooling work and modifications, including creating CAD models and drawings, requesting quotes from toolmakers, and evaluating the success or failure of the modifications.
- Responsible for supervising and managing setup and completion of thermal and environmental testing on gaskets and assemblies according to client or OEM specifications. Also responsible for creating, reviewing, and/or approving testing reports.
- Participate in APQP project teams.
- Supports QA and engineering departments.
- Lead DOE (Design of Experiment) activities to new molding processes and continuous improvement of ongoing production activities.
- Provide on-going technical support for production activities.
- Support Design Engineering with checking engineering designs to meet customer requirements, international standards, and the organization manufacturing targets.
- Provides technical support in the administration of plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications of products and services for quality improvement.
- Provides technical support to different areas in the organization and to the client if required.
- Additional duties will be requested by direct supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE
- Level of study: Bachelor's degree Engineering or related field.
- English level: Advanced.
- Computer skills: Advanced. 3D and CAD design programs
EXPERIENCE
- More than 5 years of experience in manufacturing processes related to plastic, silicone, and rubber products.
- Rubber molding experience is a must.
