Purpose Statement: The role of the NPI Engineer is to initiate and provide guidance to the design, development, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes for new product, using classical manufacturing engineering skills. An NPI Engineer has a high degree of knowledge and understanding of one or more critical manufacturing processes.Key Job Accountabilities:- Continuously evaluate NPI methodology for effectiveness.- Works closely with Customer Managers/Customer Directors to stay on the forefront of new business awards to ensure early engagement of the NPI Team.- Develop a methodical NPI approach in regards to customer engagement, PPQP, FAI, qualification, and quote to actual gap analysis.Additional Accountabilities:- Drive notable year over year improvements in Key Performance Indicators.- Travel to customer site for early engagement (with customer focus team staff).- Funnel machine/new technology needs to NPI Manager.- Determine need for Plexus DFX (or subsets).- Coordinate customer visit for first build onsite.- Review quotes for accuracy and support quote to actual gap analysis.- Works in tandem with Transition Management (if assigned) on schedule, customer commits, customer communication.- Lead Plexus Part Quality Plan initiative.- Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 10-25%).- Additional duties as assigned.Education/Experience Qualifications:- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is preferred.- Less than One (1) year of related experience is required; One (1) or more years of related experience is preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.Other Qualifications:- Intermediate innovation- Advanced Execution- Intermediate Operational Knowledge- Intermediate Industry Knowledge- Intermediate Decision Making and Problem Solving- Basic Data Modeling and manipulation knowledge- Basic thermal, mechanical, materials- Basic Electrical- Basic Technical Judgment- Gerber- MAX- JDE- Agile- Microsoft Visio- CAD- General office equipment and materialsWork Environment:- The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.- This document does not represent a contract of employment and is not intended to capture every possible assignment the incumbent could be asked to perform._
