Product Engineer
The Product Engineer will work with the internal areas and the customer to verify and validate that the product being developed for the customer meets the specified requirements. In addition, the Product Engineer will develop the work instructions and process checklists necessary to assemble the product, the test procedures necessary to validate the product, and any necessary fixtures, tools, or test that may be needed for the assembly and test process. The Product Engineer will also work with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot problems with production and take corrective actions if necessary.
**Responsibilities**:
Drive production development efforts for new customer products. Analysis and development of manufacturing functions, capacities, and facilities needed to produce the customers product.
Participate to drive the production development efforts for new customer products
Set up ERP part number structures, routings, and BOMs for new products.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers to design and structure the manufacturing work flows for new products.
Responsible for the creation and update of related documentation (test procedures, assembly instructions, specifications, checklists, etc.)
Assist key personnel, project lead engineers, and/or Operations management in determination of work scope, tasks, schedules, and budgets.
This challenging position has a great deal of interaction with technical staff.
Support EHS regulatory/environmental as required in the projects launch.
Create process flow diagrams, where applicable, to aid with rapid understanding of the process.
Work with programs including Autodesk Vault, MS Word, and visual-mapping software to document and store processes.
Partner with the Production and Manufacturing Engineering functions to lead pre-launch production trial runs and process quality monitoring
Develop product test plans and perform production test according manufacturing process instructions
Monitor operations of product and evaluate designs and ensure adherence to all design and manufacturing instructions
Ensure compliance to all Engineering Change Order procedures and work instructions
Analyze and recommend corrective actions for any design failure occurrences
Coordinate NPI status reports and other appropriate reports
It is responsible for knowing the procedures and Safety Instructions, Health and Environment applicable to the department and Global Manufacturing Principles.
Documenting new processes
Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, and EHS to take the assemblies from initial design through prototype development and into full production.
**Qualifications**:
Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineeror related.
5+ years of experience as a manufacturing working on mechanical or electromechanical systems and welding processes.
Ability to effectively employ standard methods and tools, APQP, PPAP (DFEMA, PFMEA, PFD, Control Plans, MSA, Capability Studies, etc.) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven working experience in design documentation development
Knowledge of IATF, ISO 9001 & ISO14001 standard.
Knowledge of AutoCAD
English fluent -Business conversation.
