The NPI Engineering position reports to the NPI Sr. Leader Coordinator and is responsible for driving actions and execute tasks in the NPI field at the Advanced Energy manufacturing plant in Mexicali.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Review and sustain actual NPI documented process from early stages to Release to Production stage.
- Review and sustain MRP / ERP database (BOMs, Product specs, Routing, Costs, Sales & Production Orders, Materials Procurement, Shipping, etc ) directly or indirectly by working closely with departments of Sales, Marketing, and all Operations departments such as EHS, Materials Purchasing, Warehouse, Planning, QA Eng, Mfg / Process Eng.
and Production Eng.
- Review new product design, identify weaknesses, propose, implement and monitor effectiveness of improvements.
- Create strategy for the verification of the corrective designs and participate in verification activities.
- Contribute to risk management content such as FMEA, PFMEA and hazard analysis.
- Investigate new product complaints, perform root cause analysis of failures, and propose remediation in a timely fashion.
- Analyze Complaint data and generate prioritized actions to address shortcomings associated with the company's products.
- Develops and maintains process documentation such as process flow, components preparation code's visual aids, assembly visual aids, training and additional process useful documentation.
- Coordinate and execute tooling (dies, standard tools, custom tools, templates, fixtures, harnesses, jigs, etc ) procurement for NPIs.
- New Product Assembly flow analysis and corrective action execution collaborate.
SKILLS: - Experience in: o Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
o Basic test equipment (Electric / Electronic digital multimeter, torque-meter, pressure and flow transducers), compressed air connections, and basic software tools such as MicroSoft Office (Power-Point, Word amd Excel, minimum).
o Negotiation with Operations departments such as Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse, EHS, QA Engineering, Process Engineering and Production Engineering.
Experiência y requisitos
- Use of statistical management tools such as Excel or Minitab.
o Use of mechanical measuremet tools such as measurement tape, caliper, filler gauges, micrometer and angle protractor.
o Specific skills: SolidWorks (preferred).
- Personal characteristics: o Proactive, Teamwork, Integrity.
o Continuous Improvement and LEAN MANUFACTURING mind-set.
- Education/Degree(s): o Bachelor in Mechanical or Electronics / Electrical engineering or similar like Mechatronics.
- Certifications: N/A - Licenses: Driving, USA visa and passport.
EXPERIENCE: - Essential: o 3 years industrial experience preferably in electronic assemblies manufacturing.
o 95% fluent english spoken and writing.
o Wide experience in creation and sustaining of DFM and PFMEA.
o Experience in the DMAIC process.
o Experience with statistical analysis (SPC, CPK, MEAN, USL, LSL, etc ) o Solid works software.
o Demonstrated troubleshoothing and root cause analysis skills.
o Tenacious problem solver, organized, detail oriented.
o Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into design specifications.
o Excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to quickly, clearly and concisely communicate.
- Desirable: o Electromechanical design.
o Knowledge in machinery for SMT, Auto-Insertion, metal working (punching, bending, marking, etc ) o Experience working with cable assemblies and PCBs.
EDUCATION: - Essential: Mechanical or Electronics / Electrical engineering or similar like Mechatronics.
- Desirable: o Green Belt certificate.
o Project Management certificate.
