This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Works with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems. Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions and cost reduction projects. Supports drive to fundamental process understanding and lowest cost producer objectives. Supports the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology or improvements in existing technology resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost. Understands Corning's Intellectual property management processes and follows that process in documenting any intellectual property developed as part of a project.Key ResponsibilitiesMust be fluent in both Spanish and English.Technical Proficiency: An NPI (New Product Introduction) engineer should have a solid understanding of engineering concepts and practices. They should be capable of designing, developing, and introducing new products, which includes knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product testing, and quality control. Any specific skills related to the industry would be beneficial.Good Project Management: The role involves handling multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines. Therefore, the candidate should possess good project management skills such as planning, scheduling, and managing resources. Familiarity with project management tools would be an advantage.Effective Communication Skills: An NPI engineer often interacts with different departments, from design to manufacturing. They should be able to explain technical concepts in an understandable manner to non-technical team members. They should also be comfortable presenting progress reports to management and working with suppliers and customers to understand their needs and feedback
