JOB PROFILE:
DIMENSIONS:
Works with internal customers and external vendors to ensure timely return to active status for short-term medical leaves. These responsibilities encompass disability related functions including tracking surgeries and leaves of absence as well as communicating with employees regarding disability status.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Functions as short-term disability case manager within Turbotec, working closely with HR to expedite safe, speedy return to work, reviewing job placement exceptions, transitional return to work and coordinating with the manager to bring cases to the best conclusion.
- Coordinates with established vendors the completion of health surveillance programs such as respiratory protection, earing conservation, blood borne pathogens, etc.
- Reviews results, initiates follow up, maintains records, arranges referrals and tracks results.
- Similarly coordinates more established, ongoing health promotion activities, Official Mexican Policies and Secretary of Mexican Health and Labor and Social Security, record keeping. flu clinics, wellness screenings, etc.
- Is available, when required, to responds to industrial accidents to provide emergency medical help and to coordinate emergency treatment up to the time the injured person is sent off-site for further treatment.
- Maintains employee status and recovery documentation for all recordable injuries.
- Uses computer hardware and various software/database systems to record, track and report information as part of the administration of short-term disability case management.
- Coordinates the completion of new hire physical results, coordinates completion, including communicating results, assuring that Post Accident and other urine collections are done according to established corporate procedures.
- Involves other groups such as Security and Human Resources in the notification process to ensure compliance to company drug-free workplace policies.
- Assures upkeep of medical equipment and instruments.
- Works with administration, management and supervisors to identify and offer solutions regarding employee health and safety issues related to employees' disabilities (Employees with medical limitations) as part of matching employees' abilities to available transitional or modified work assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum requirements are a Nurse (BD or Technical) license, CPR advanced Knowledge, and at least 2 years of high quality, related experience in a Maquiladora setting, disability case management, preferably an occupational health setting.
- Must be able to obtain Hearing Conservation and Pulmonary Certification. Knowledge of Official Mexican Policies and Secretary of Mexican Health and Labor and Social Security, record keeping.
- Workers Compensation and other related state and federal regulations is strongly preferred. Must be able to make independent medical and business decisions, handle emergency situations and use medical authority to direct employees, managers, and vendors.
- Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Familiarity with database programs and computer driven medical equipment is desired. Must be able to produce reports, data roll-ups, and presentations, manage inventory and budgets via computer tracking systems. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
