TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.**What your background should look like**:**Essential Functions**:- Responsible for obtaining indirect materials, equipment and services. Gathers quotations, examines bids, and makes awards. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for commodities and specifically for several indirect material Commodities for multiple Business Units. Evaluates vendor reliability, developing new supply sources where required. Coordinates purchasing activities with facilities and engineering departments to support Operations. Monitors cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts or purchasing orders to assure best quality at best value. Recommends cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.- Responsible for meeting and desirable exceeding expectations regarding the Indirect Procurement metrics, including but not limited to productivity, quality, delivery, consolidation of suppliers and driving the spend with TE´s preferred and strategic suppliers.**Nonessential Functions: Desirable, but not necessary, aspects of the job.**- Auditing vendors- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Specific minimum competencies required for job performance.- New graduate, one year of experience and the know how on SAP systems is a plus, in purchasing for electronics, aerospace and/or automotive industries, coordination of projects to improve processes and to drive Cost Savings, able to work under stress, organized, results oriented. Bilingual, or at least 85% of English written and spoken.- Minimum Qualifications: Minimum level of education and experience required to perform the job.- College degree in Administration, IE / Ing.
