Tasks
**Overview**:
Participate in activities of review and analysis of open source software at Continental's Research and Development Center.
Responsible of performing reviews of the usage and modifications of open source software used by Continental, Continental's subcontractors and/or Software Suppliers.
Identify possible conflicts related to the terms and conditions imposed by open source licenses.
Gather information related to the distribution of Continental's software to the Open Source Community or Consortium.
Evaluate the usage, modifications and distribution of Free & Open Source Software in order to determine its approval status for its usage in Continental's products.
Review and interprete the license agreements applicable to the open source software.
Create reports summarizing the implications of using Open Source.
Integrate compliance practices in the software development process
Prepare Free & Open Source Software packages for distribution
Collaborate with the Global Open Source Compliance team in order to assess any possible risk the source code from Continental internal projects may be exposed to, based on the terms and conditions imposed by the used open source and free software licenses.
Identify legal conflicts related to the presence of Open Source software in Continental Proprietary software.
Active participation on Continental Innovation Initiatives.
Contribute to the improvement of the Open Source Compliance Process, as well as the development of tools that optimize such process.
Fulfill corporate requirements.
Follow up the implementation of ideas generated from the improvement program of your area.
Support internal tool development.
**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.
Unix, GNU/Linux & Windows knowledge
Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, python, perl)
PHP programming language is required
Familiar with SW development
Strong documentation skills.
Visionary thinking
Fluent English
**Additional Preferred Qualifications**:
Basic understanding of Open Source licenses
**Understanding of Open Source software development**: C, C++.
Version control and configuration management systems (e.g.
Git, Jira)
Data bases handling is desired
**Agile methodologies**: SCRUM
