.Operations Engineer, Last Mile EngineeringLast Mile Field Engineering is searching for an Operations Engineer with controls engineering experience to lead automation and material handling equipment (MHE) continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to identify cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations. You will reconcile site layout drawings for existing retrofit projects and new launch initiatives. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.Ability to travel up to 40% to interact with internal and external business, operational, and technical leaders.Key Job ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal automation/MHE equipment design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits, and building designs.Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.Minimum Requirements5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience.Bachelor's degree.Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other operations engineer tools.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
