Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operations Technology Lead engineer.
**What you'll do**:
**Job Summary**
This position is responsible for driving improvements in efficiency, quality & safety in manufacturing operations through the deployment of appropriate Industry 4.0 tools & technologies such as: augmented reality, factory simulation, process control & traceability, digital work instructions, additive manufacturing, and data analytics.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead major projects to deploy Industry 4.0 tools & technologies into manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Digital Factory Engineer/Specialist, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities.
- Guide & support plant teams on machine connectivity & data acquisition activities
- Work as liaison to divisional Digital Factory Engineer and Manufacturing leaders
- Align Industry 4.0 project objectives to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on strategic value streams
- Assist manufacturing teams in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities
- Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives

**Qualifications**:
**Education level required**
- Bachelor degree in Engineering.
**Years and area of experience required**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, automation and/or IT project development.
**Skills**:
**Technical knowledge**
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
- Knowledge of electronic systems, electric cabinets or wiring of hardware (motors, PLC's, sensors)
- Analytical and critical thinking - necessary for identification of issues and potential troubleshooting.
- Desirable 5 years of experience in one of those manufacturing engineering (Manufacturing Engineering, IT network)
- Experience in controls engineering, programming, additive manufacturing, big data & analytics
- Manufacturing system experience
- Understanding of machine connectivity, communication protocols & data management
- Understanding of IT infrastructure & system integration
- Proficient with computer and software tools - including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)
- Expertise in lean manufacturing & Six Sigma
- Ability to select and install PLC hardware and software
- Ability to operate and maintain PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Eaton)
- Ability to select and evaluate electrical system components such as circuit protection devices, sensors, relays, actuators, timers, motors & various types of AC/DC drives
- Ability to read & use wiring, connection, schematic, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot control systems
- Ability to setup industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these into the existing IT infrastructure
- Knowledge/Experience with setup of Kepware OPC system (optional)
- Ability to perform diagnostics on control hardware with the necessary SW package
- Knowledge or experience with electric safety devices (switches, fuses, breakers) Optional
- Knowledge or experience with Thingworx (PTC) platform (optional)
- Knowledge or experience with Reporting Systems (SSRS, QlikView) (optional)
- Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders)
