Packaging Designer

POSITION SUMMARYThe Packaging designer supports New Product Development and product sustaining tasks for the company's Global Rack & Edge Thermal products. RESPONSIBILITIES-Provides technical support and manage the packaging development process(Creation of packaging designs, prototype development, specification and testing).- Develop alternative design concept prototypes and CAD drawings using design so ware.- Coordinate the development and verification ISTA testing of alternative designs.- Create/update BOMs, submit engineering change requests and release the revised designsin Oracle PLM cloud.- Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group related to design thatoptimize for packaging and overall cost. QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Bachelor of Science in Packaging Science or equivalent experience.Industrial designerPackaging Engineer  REQUIREMENTS: 1-3 years of engineering product development or support experience. Packaging design experience  Working knowledge of Test standards and test-methods. Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures. Basic mechanical CAD tools experience in CREO is a plus  Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically. Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.  Proficient in English
