Purpose Develop and create diverse iTero products' packing solutions utilizing appropriate materials in accordance with needs, CX and most affordable solutions.
Essential Obligations and Responsibilities Responsible to develop, validate and implement packaging concepts for finished goods based on customer requirements and plant guidelines. Additionally, recognizes opportunities on raw material supplier's packaging to optimize costs and handling.Validate BOM to ensure all packaging items are marked properly for cost and production relevancy to avoid PPV's and/or inventory deviations.Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify the most suitable packaging materials and components for various product applications. Responsible for inbound packaging approval in release with vendors.Responsible to develop, validate and implement packaging concepts, along with Process and QA engineers, for finished goods based on customer requirements and plant guidelines.Main contact to cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers, to support topics related to design and quality of packaging.Support on the analysis and monitoring of the packaging budget and forecast (Business Plan, Current Forecast, monthly cost reports).Identifies, develops, leads, implements, and follows up improvement and/or cost savings/avoidance projects in logistics and cost/piece.Usage of problem-solving tools to recommend and execute solutions to overcome issues to meet customer requirements.Support implementation of automation of packaging processes together with support departments.Responsible for benchmarking packaging activities and processes related with other plants, to promote continuous improvement.Other assignments per business needs given by functional managers.Desirable Education, Skills and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, Packaging Science, or a related field.Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a packaging engineering role.Proven experience in vendor development, sourcing, and negotiation of packaging material (preferred: Medical packaging).Knowledge of Packaging Regulations: Stay informed of relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., ASTM International, ISTA, etc.) to ensure packaging compliance.Project Management Skills: Effectively manage packaging projects from concept to completion, adhering to timelines and budgets.Strong Presentation Skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Understanding of Engineering Principles: Possess a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles as they apply to packaging design, including statics, dynamics, and material properties.Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Proficiency: Skilled in using CAD software to create and modify packaging designs (e.g., SolidWorks).Packaging Database: Preparation and updating.Learning and adaptability skills.High sense of urgency and good time management skills.Specific Language Requirements English a must, preferable Advanced English.
