That's what our logistics team makes possible—using the latest digital, analytics and data forecasting tools to move material where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.**Description**This position designs and develops returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping to ensure the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of material within budget. Proper packaging design includes part containment, protection, and optimization of transportation and other supply network functions.**Job Duties**:- Deliver on cost targets set by customer or process partner.- Monitor packaging spend based on client budget provided.- Establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain improvement.- Communicate with existing facilities on packaging issues related to receiving, warehousing, and/or line side delivery.- Perform cost analysis on current packaging processes and recommend changes where appropriate.- Lead medium to high risk Green Belt projects with global, network, or product group impact by collaborating with the Product Supply Network Design Supervisor.- Perform activities to ensure parts are protected, shipped, and delivered to the customer in a usable fashion.- Perform cost analysis on current packaging processes and recommend changes where appropriate.**Requirements**:- Bachelor of Science Degree (i.E. Packaging, Chemistry, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)- 3 to 5 years' experience or a minimum of 8-10 years of supply chain or operations experience- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to perform data query analysis (i.E. SAS, business objects)- Project Management experience- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills- Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles- Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems- Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures- Ability to work independently with mínimal direction- Knowledge of material handling equipment- Capable of working and communicating with a variety of company and supplier personnel- English Advanced- Affiliation with Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or comparable professional purchasing organization
