Painting Process Technician

Our engineering and product innovation help keep soldiers and firefighters safe, is critical in building and keeping communities clean and helps people do their jobs every day.SUMMARYPrincipal function is to maximize robotic system quality and uptime.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Loading and modifying robotic weld programs as well as backing up changes.- Setting up tooling as required for process.- Verifying process parameters to specification and ensures that parameters are not changed without engineering approval.- Troubleshoot automation issues with the guidance of the operator, maintenance, and tool & die.- Train robotic welders as needed.- Assist with operator PMs.- Participate in equipment run-off activities.- Support group production activities daily.- Log changes and equipment downtime.- Assist in the development and maintenance of spare parts lists and PM's for equipment.- Position parts using fixtures or similar equipment.- Monitor welding process.- Run TCP.- Change and clean nozzles and tips.- Change torches and leads as required.- Handle minor robot malfunctions.- Change weld wire as required. Perform operator PMs.- Ensure overall product and process capability.- Ensure updated process sheets and work instructions for ISO.- Utilize visual inspection techniques to check appearance and quality of welds and uses any appropriate gauging when required.- Record and chart quality, productivity and any related group performance measures.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Associate's degree in Welding Technology, Industrial Welding related field- Five plus years of related experience- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)- Experience in robotic welding systems as well as ABB robot programming experience- Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Office products is a plus
