BECOME A GSE MECHANIC III! As a GSE Mechanic Level III, your primary responsibility will be repairing and maintaining both motorized and non-motorized Airline & Aircraft Ground Service Equipment. In this role, you will carry out advanced maintenance and repairs on a wide range of ground support equipment.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS A GSE MECHANIC III Demonstrate safety practices to comply with company standardsService equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed airLog equipment numbers to be repaired with description of work to be done on each pieceInspect, Maintain, Troubleshoot, Replace, Repair, Overhaul or Modify:engines and transmissionselectrical systemsbrakes and braking systemshydraulic and pneumatic systems on mobile lift and conveyor systemsbumpers and body worktowing hitches and towing barsundercarriages, wheels and tiresbushings, shafts, end places, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose and wiringRemove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensorsCheck and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches and drive shaftsDiagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manualsOperate and test ground equipment for performance assessmentComplete associated paperwork and track partsQUALIFICATIONS 18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United States6 years of verified experience requiredMust provide their own tools and toolboxDemonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job locationAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageAbility to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate both in-person and through electronic meansValid State Driver's License with a verifiable safe vehicle operating recordPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operationPHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS INCLUDE: Ability to lift up to 70 poundsProlonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicableMust be able to push, pull, crawl in confined spacesMust be able to bend, stretch, squat, and work at elevated heightsExposure to moderate and at times high noise levelsExposure to Biohazards and/or ChemicalsExposure to outdoor elementsBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarmsTasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingersSpecific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusAirlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
