**How will you make an impact in this role?**

The Payments Consultant Manager act as the GMS Client Managers' single point of contact for all payments solutions requests from our Merchants. Payments solutions require Payments Consultants to be able to provide support in all stages of the life cycle of a payment transaction (authorization, submission and payments reconciliation).

American Express depends on the Payments Consulting team to enable Card acceptance, identify, and implement payment solutions (products and services) in customer-facing situations. Relationship building, communication, and problem-solving skills are important for success for these teams' roles. The PCG Manager is the liaison between the PCG team and Client Managers, our Merchants, Payments Facilitators, Acquiring Partners, and American Express technical areas that support the certification processes as well as production and operations.

The PCG Manager must also maintain deep and current knowledge about the payments services industry, market trends, new and existing technologies, products and services, and the structure of American Express and customer organizations.

This role requires an experienced and persuasive employee with experience in people management, thought leadership, analytical skills and a track record of complex problem solving, and flawless project execution.

In addition to the PCG Manager responsibilities, this position will also be responsible for the Amex standalone AMEX POS as the product manager.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop a team of high performing employees to deliver against clear GMS goals.
- Build strong internal and external relationships to facilitate delivery of shared goals including:

- Relationship management with American Express network and Product owners/managers.
- Responsible for supporting/consulting product teams to understand the implications of a product launch considering local market payments ecosystem.
- Responsible for coordinating the efforts related with products implementation / migration / sunsetting, such as: migration of Safekey 2.1 to Safekey 2.2, Tokenization market launch, Card refresher readiness for merchant use, Online PIN design for the American Express network in Mexico, as well as wallets launch in the market.
- Partner with the merchant acquisition team to assess high yield opportunities within the merchant portfolio and establish and action plan to engage merchants and third-party acquirers.
- Develop relationship at senior-levels with clients to understand their business objectives, payment needs, current environment, and key pain-points.
- Take a consultative approach to evaluate merchant's current credit card processing environment to identify requirements, vulnerabilities, and opportunities.
- For the POS Product, the PCG Manager is accountable for:

- Amex POS product strategy
- Amex POS and Shared POS certification
- Monitor and support Amex POS BAU Operations (production, telecom, connectivity, monitoring platform & terminal management system)
- Proprietary POS software release management
- Shared POS software release management
- POS expenses, invoices, and expense management

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Understanding of emerging payment types, their success factors, benefits, and value proposition.
- Demonstrated project management and delivery skills (experienced people leader).
- Payment product management experience.
- Strong consultativ
