.Time left to apply: End Date: January 3, 2025 (10 days left to apply)Job requisition ID: R00179284Responsible for a variety of payroll functions including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly US payroll, supporting bi-weekly Canada payroll, updating employee information, creating and printing payroll reports, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations. The candidate must understand the payroll process, be able to work with other departments, and interact ethically with all employees.Key Responsibilities:Balancing and validating earnings and deduction totals, printing, sorting, distributing paychecks, and processing other paperwork.Payroll related tasks like wage attachments, relocations, tuition reimbursements, vehicle lease deductions, severances, and settlements, calculating military pay.Supplemental payroll runs such as bonuses and recognition payments.Ensuring all employee payroll information is correct and up to date.Resolving employee questions and ensuring that all payroll functions are completed in a timely manner.Weekly payroll processing audits by inspecting registers and standard reports, determining, and correcting out-of-balance conditions.Reconciliation of payroll checks and resolution of any discrepancies.Establishing and maintaining payroll related records.Preparation of payroll reports from PeopleSoft and the timekeeping systems.Following standard payroll processes and guidelines, complying with various state and federal laws and regulations.Support for payroll processing and system operations, filling in for various roles when team members are absent.Creating reconciliation processes/queries to aid with payroll processing and working with IS to update inefficient processes or resolve issues within payroll and time and attendance systems.Working on various projects as needed including any system testing and implementation and training end users on time and attendance applications.Creating auditing reports that can be used to proactively catch issues.Continuously working with business partners including HR, benefits, IS, etc. to minimize issues and make processes more efficient.Attending regular meetings to discuss issues and needed enhancements to processes and systems used by payroll.Qualifications:3-4 years of payroll processing experience in a large multistate organization (3,000+ employees).Knowledge and experience with payroll calculations, analysis, reconciliations, and audits.General payroll tax knowledge required.Understanding of wage orders.Able to work with the team.Excellent customer service skills.Self-motivated, organized, proactive, and able to multitask.Excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills.PeopleSoft knowledge is preferred.Able to quickly adopt process changes and work in a fast-paced environment
