Payroll Specialyst

Duties include time and attendance loading and balancing, payroll processing and required governmental reporting in an accurate and timely manner:- Runs payroll reports for auditing purposes and others in the organization.- Processes weekly and semimonthly payroll for entire organization, completes and posts results; - Updates and maintains payroll files and databases to reflect personnel updates/changes.- Administer Garnishments.- Researches issues/discrepancies, and processes necessary corrections.- Cross training functions within the department.- State and Local tax set up for all address changes, new hires, and transferred associates.- Investigate and respond to tax authority notices, tracers, and correspondence in a timely manner.- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements- Remains current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll- Manages state unemployment rates and ensures rates are updated timely in the system.- Develop and document tax audit and balancing procedures- Responsible for the quarterly balancing of all payrolls to the quarterly tax filed reports and annual W-2s as well as internal Wage and Tax Reconciliation.- Responsible for filing all amendments and W-2c and approving funding for each amendment.- Keep Payroll Management informed of upcoming or potential tax law changes and requirements.- Responsible for filing quarterly tax returns that are not completed by third party vendor.- Seamlessly backup processors for all payrolls for U.S. and Canada processing- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
