.Overview: The Payroll Sr.
Specialist is the person responsible for analyzing the payroll and accounting data, managing all payroll information into the payroll system.
This position entails preparing reports and reconciling, estimating and compiling company payroll into general ledger, and ensuring processing of payroll weekly and bi-weekly.
This person will be held accountable for monitoring the salaries, deductions and personnel records pertaining to the company.
**Responsibilities**:- Ensure accuracy, analysis and timeliness of weekly and bi-weekly payroll processes.- Ensure the company's payroll system is updated and working correctly.- Work on reconciliation of accounts, audits and analysis of operational data monthly to guarantee accuracy.- Provide appropriate explanations for variances in balance sheet accounts.- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.- Supervise and coach payroll specialists.- Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.- Close collaboration with Finance, Accounts Payable and Cash teams.- Maintain accurate records and preparation of reports.- Suggest fresh ideas and to management in aspects such a organizing modification structure for personnel.- Resolve issues and answers payroll-related to all personnel.- Preparation of PBC and interaction with auditors.Assist in the implementation of new projects across the organization as required.Qualifications:LI-Remote- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or affiliated courses.- 3+ years of experience in processing payroll.- Experience in international company is preferred.- Practical experience in general ledger payroll accounting.- Operational experience utilizing accounting software packages.- Knowledge of preparation of electronic payroll to comply with Mexican laws.- Understanding of the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.- Ability to organize workload and time effectively, including prioritizing details, organizing, focusing and planning.- Appropriate level of English to maintain conversations and meetings.- Strong independent problem solving, self-management, and analytical skills.- Service-situated outlook; strong sense of duty regarding quality and continuous improvement - "can do" disposition.- Strong communications abilities - both written and oral.- Ability to create a positive and cooperative working environment with team members.- Conduct with honesty in the performance of the daily work.- Strong investigative and critical thinking abilities.- Good understanding of the concepts involved in the area of process improvements.LI-SG1INDCompany Overview:**ABOUT OPORTUN**Oportun (Nasdaq: OPRT) is a financial services company and digital platform that provides responsible consumer credit to hardworking people in the United States.
