BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at our SLP Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Engineering Manager the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be primarily responsible for the will be the new NBO quotes, monitoring of CAPEX, ensuring capacity planning and effective utilization of equipment according to LRP; in addition to research, development and implementation of new technologies / processes within the Manufacturing Engineering department.
This individual will work directly with equipment vendors as well as a variety of ITC (Industrial Technology Center) engineering functions to support NBO, new product development, as well as operation support as needed.
Travel to any of the BW locations and providers will be required.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop budgets, ensure reliable quotes on time following the GQS system (Global Quotation System) as well as feasibility studies.
- CAPEX track spending budgets for each department/owner/forecast.
Participation will work with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinator of Capex budget requests for the following years.
- CAPACITY - Ensure capacity planning and effective utilization of equipment in accordance with LRP, in coordination with PLM's and manufacturing engineering coordinators.
- Evaluate and track new NBO product requirements to ensure manufacturing capacity and volume increases on existing products.
Participation will work with cross-functional teams.
- Provide functional assistance to PLM or Program Managers in GATE reviews as needed.
- Specifications - Engineering Standards - Ability to provide solution guidance based on your knowledge of BW technology.
Understanding of market technology and competition.
- Define specifications for manufacturing standards.
- Facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies for new NBO programs.
- Development of the best machines for the purchase of new equipment.
- Collaboration and support to ITC in the development of new technologies and new products.
- Research and compare the latest process technologies and manufacturing techniques to continually improve product quality and cost.
- Train Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineers in the operation of new equipment.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, employees and all levels of the management team.
- Support in the development of APQP documentation according to AIAG standards.
- Coordination with contractors to ensure the safety of people during the industrialization process and initial production of samples.
**Qualifications**:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing or related)
- Time of experience in a similar position: 3 - 5 years of related work experience in the automotive industry.
