BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a NVH/Controls Engineer at our SLP Plant in México.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Ensure smooth implementation of product quality EOL tests from tech center product development activities to test stand suppliers and then to plant EOL test.- Develop and maintain consistent processes and configurations for plant EOL test stands, including start of shift checklists, master and challenge unit policy, software strategies for metrics and limit setting.- Understand and interpret EOL test results and trends. Report results regularly to each product team.- Troubleshoot and resolve EOL stand issues, including software, hardware and test stand issues during development.- Train maintenance and product quality support staff in troubleshooting EOL test stand issues.- Develop EOL test stand data retention strategy with local and corporate IT.- Conduct continuous improvement studies for product design, manufacturing or assembly for product performance characteristics.- Oversee plant test equipment maintenance and calibration.- Be the plant's main point of contact for dealing with EOL software issues with the software suppliers.- Conduct vehicle both functional and NVH testing, analysis and reporting in support of warranty issues, correlation studies and other plant initiatives.- Lead projects that require interface with several parts of plant operation: assembly, production EOL, vehicle test, teardown, inspection lab, etc. to resolve NVH or other product performance quality issues.- Interface with plant product engineers, quality team, warranty team and technical center engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience- B.S. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- 1-3 years NVH test and analysis experience in automotive powertrain, driveline and electrified products for vehicles and components.- 1-3 years of experience in plant EOL quality test systems- Hands-on vehicle and component instrumentation and data acquisition test activities- Understanding of plant product performance characteristics, including starters and electric drive modules.- Familiarity with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.- Experience drafting RFQs, RFPs, and reviewing vendor design concepts.- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control.- Familiarity developing Key Performance Indicators.
Preferred Software/Hardware Experience- NVH - Head Acoustics software and hardware, or similar- Discom Rotas EOL NVH software or equivalent- Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python.- Familiarity with SQL.- Familiarity with Microsoft BI, Tableau, Ignition, or other data visualization equivalents.
