BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Packaging Engineer at our SLP Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Packaging Engineer will be primarily responsible for generating the database of packaging used for both internal and external consumption and export, as well as identify areas for improvement and cost reduction per packaging.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Development of new designs according to the needs of internal and external customers.
- Eliminate quality problems, in common agreement with support areas (Quality, Product Engineering, etc.).
- Provide support to production lines and/or materials to improve internal and external processes.
- Interact with various internal and external customers to eliminate, suggest and improve various packaging concepts.
- Development of new alternatives that contribute to improve and reduce packaging costs.
- Development of new suppliers so as not to depend on one and that puts production programs at risk.
- Generate savings projects.
- Train staff to improve packaging processes.
- Development and updating of packaging processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Industrial Engineer or related career.
- Time of experience in a similar position: 2 years or more in a similar position.
- Required technical knowledge: Packing and Packaging, Material Flow, Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Safety and Hygiene.
- Other requirements: Microsoft Office
