**Basic Function**:
Manage the timely production of development samples to support product development efforts and initiatives working closely with the San Luis Potosi plant personnel following the strategy and priority that the business has established for the growth objectives of the organization.
Plan the scheduling of pilot lines for sample production, raw material testing or small production runs, in a timely manner.
Ensure pilot line productions are in accordance with EHS guidelines for manufacturing, quality is consistent with SPO site standards and support for regular and anticipated equipment maintenance.
Report productions in ERP with PM requisitions and order closure, monitor KPIs and train assigned operators for the operation of specific pilot lines.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
Safety and EHS
- Adhere to the San Luis Potosi production site HSE policy and contribute to the site HSE objective.
- Participate in the overall San Luis Potosi site activity (e.g. HSE activities, audits, required on-line training, advice to personnel operating pilot lines as needed, etc.).
- Engage in Operation Clean Sweep projects.
Production management
- Coordinate and manage the receipt of incoming sample request items for the execution of their productions.
- Work directly with SPO scheduler to establish production schedule for pilot lines, including production and development samples to meet customer demands for innovation and timing.
- Monitor current inventory of materials and quantities to ensure sufficient raw materials are available for sample production otherwise notify purchasing as needed.
- Manage ERP system resources to ensure timely and accurate report capture.
- Monitor work orders for proper costing.
- Resolve ERP system inconsistencies for proper order closing.
- Review development recipes and their inspection plan to ensure correct recipes and test plans are in place for pilot requests.
- Maintain frequent communications with PAD teams and commercial teams to understand sample priorities and thereby ensure compliance to the KPI "sample turnaround time".
- Assist PAD teams to address any concerns related to the quality of development sample productions.
- Work closely with production to address potential processing issues including MFR, color and ash content adjustments if needed or possible reorganization of the sample production schedule.
- Provide support to the San Luis Potosi site manufacturing team for the facilitation of the pilot line to production line scale-up process.
- Manage the database system, including SAP and PLM, to ensure that data (e.g. sample-product registration and raw material consumption, etc.) is updated in a timely manner.
- Coordinate corrective actions for the improvement of production processes on pilot lines.
- Generate reports according to user needs.
- Coordinate accounting closing activities of pilot line work orders for physical inventories.
- Follow up on assigned corrective actions for closure.
- Follow up on assigned Intelex investigations related to pilot line productions.
- Coordinate set-up activities, cleaning, process parameter definition, order and KPI reporting in conjunction with manufacturing personnel (e.g. process engineering, quality control, etc.) and the assigned manufacturing line operator.
- Create and update pilot production procedures and/or documents.
- Support PAD engineers in test protocols of manufactured products on pilot lines.
Maintenance
- Report equipment problems that need maintenance support.
- Support preventive maintenance actions for pilot lines.
- Maintain and promote 5S for the area assigned to the pilot lines.
Laboratory
- Work closely with the San Luis Potosi site QC lab to ensure that all testing is performed as per PAD request in a timely manner.
- In case of unscheduled time on pilot lines, laboratory testing support will be requested. Couple with EHS policies and laboratory operation.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Desirable: ERP Management, Management of Continuous Improvement Tools, Manufacturing Processes, Knowledge in computer systems, personnel management. Knowledge in Polymer processing.
