Planner/Buyer, Materials Management - Supply Chain PlannerWhat Materials Management contributes to Cardinal Health Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements. Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels.
Accountabilities in this role Responsible for the proactive planning and procurement of raw material components to support the entire Presource manufacturing network. Ensure on-time delivery of raw material components that result in high service levels and minimizes component substitution and run without rates. Manage raw material inventory levels to meet organizational goals.Monitor and manage the daily raw material component requirements. Place Purchase Orders, PO confirmation and ASNs, manage lead times, and kan ban execution.Manage and adhere to raw material inventory targets and excess and obsolete goals for the Presource manufacturing network. Execute daily/weekly inventory reviews, execute corrective actions, balance inventory across the network, and execute monthly Operational and Financial E&O processes.Contingency planning for supply disruptions – manage vendor past due shipments, backorders, and discontinued products. Interface with the PRC committee to initiate substitutions. Verify vendor capability to support volume increases for substitution product.Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related degree is required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing capacity.Results oriented; critical, strategic thinker.Experience leading a team and/or supervising others desired.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.What is expected of you and others at this level Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.Works on complex projects of large scope.Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
