.POSITION SUMMARYThe Plant Accountant will be responsible for executing regular month-end close activities, balance sheet accounts reconciliations, and distribution of reports related to our US and Canada plants, specifically in the Inventory/Cost of Sales areas. The position will report to the Accounting Manager. Significant interaction with other departments, business disciplines, and international operations will be required by this individual.RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare manual journal entries with the appropriate support based on US GAAP. Demonstrate strong attention to detail when performing calculations and preparing journal entries.Interact with the finance team on the review of month-end journal entries.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations timely and accurately. Demonstrate the ability to identify the root cause of discrepancies.Prepare and distribute recurring financial reports (daily, weekly, or monthly as required).Demonstrate consistency in following accounting procedures.Assist with internal and external audits.
