**Plant Buyer**
**What will you do?
**
The plant buyer should be able to develop suppliers, execute savings projects, assure that an adequate supplier is assigned to each purchased item and support expediting processes with suppliers to assure that direct material is supplied in a proper time and that it will meet the delivery dates to minimize the risk of an inventory stock-out or revenue impact.
May also be required to support in other supplier related activities such as quality escalations and ISO related requirements.
**How will you do it?
**
- Purchase goods, materials, and components in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
- Monitor vendor performance and support Global Procurement to assure proper feedback and corrective actions are in place to improve vendor development
- Assure that problems relating to delivery, pricing and invoicing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures to avoid material shortages
- Implement Material related Projects
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required
- Comply with activities specified in JCI Safety Commitment Letter.
- Participate in Safety Subcommittees and Safety Audits as required.
- Participate in Risk Assessments
- Participate in EHS suggestions program
- Participate in EHS observations program
- Implement and maintain security policy, health and environment at work.
- To support the committees in identifying risks and environmental aspects.
- Participate in Training program.
- Train your staff in procedures and instructions.
- Define corrective and preventive actions.
- Control system logs in your area.
- Develop and review procedures and instructions.
- Intervene personally identify and correct unsafe acts and recognize safe behavior
- Identify and report potential environmental impacts
- Analyze and prevent the consequences of all actions before any activity
**Qualifications**
**What we look for?
**
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
+3 years exp.
in supply chain related role preferred.
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Leadership skills
- Team work
- Service attitude
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong decision-making Communication, analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience in a manufacturing planning capacity
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge in running queries on the AS/400 or equivalent database
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
