We are hiring a **Plant Finance Controller **who will be responsible for collaborating closely with the plant manager, plant leadership team, and other finance and cross-disciplinary partners to ensure that production and profitability goals are met, and that financial indicators are accurate.
**What You Will Be Doing**:
The Plant Controller is responsible to ensure product costing accurately reflects the operational cost structure. The plant controller is the champion of cost within the plant and collaborates with plant leadership on efficiency improvement processes to increase productivity and reduce costs. This person will proactively move the company towards performance goals by recommending actions that create value and align with the overall strategic goals of Steelcase. The plant controller must be focused on continuous improvement within finance as well as the overall operations.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan.
- Supervise analyst activities while providing effective coaching and support to accomplish goals
- Analyze, report, and provide deep insights into financial results to operations and finance leadership in accordance with US GAAP.
- Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, cost of non-quality, and inventory levels.
- Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
- Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain adjustments.
- Ensure product costing accurately reflects production operations.
- Attend daily plant production meetings and perform walkthroughs of plant to discuss production and costing issues and identify and influence the execution of cost improvement opportunities.
- Document and understand the SAP systems and reporting conventions.
- Review and approve potential excess and obsolete inventory.
- Review and approve spending in accordance with company policies.
- Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded.
- Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records.
- Assist product development with costing clarity for product placement and profit optimization.
- Assist and/or leads completion of special projects, often involving other functions.
- Collaborate with other Americas plant controllers on development of value-add metrics and product costing playbook.
- Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and local statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with accounting team for proper recognition of significant and/or unusual transactions.

**Required Skills and Competencies**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Advanced English is a must.
- 5 to 10 years in a similar role at accounting and finance.
- At least 3 years' experience in Maquiladora manufacturing environment.
**Preferred Skills and Competencies**:
- Master´s Degree
- Experience in SAP environment
