Job OverviewTE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage.
They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc., focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
ResponsibilitiesDescription
• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations
• Analyze workflow, labor and equipment to maximize efficiency
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs
• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Establish and operate the plant in a safe and environmentally sound manner and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare an annual operating plan, budget and direct all facility expenditures in line with the plan.
• Drive Performance Management and key Human Resources goals in line with the BU strategy
• Drive Continuous Improvement in line with strategy
• Ensure that the plant is maintained in accordance with the Operational and Manufacturing procedures and best practices within the Business Unit.
• Operate the plant in such a manner to optimize environmental conditions and best practices.
• Hire, train and lead the Operational and Manufacturing employees whilst balancing the activities and function of all facility employees, according to business needs and growth.
• Establish and implement systems to log, track, trend and forecast essential parameters of plant technical and financial performance.
QualificationsWhat your background should look like:
• 5+ years experience working as an Operational/Plant Leader with proven experience
• Bachelors or Master's degree
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, effectively managing competing priorities with available resources.
• Experienced in leading and creating a high performing team.
• Accustomed to having full responsibility for P&L/site and overseeing key departments including Production, Planning, Warehouse, EHS, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Tooling, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement
• Good knowledge of all business processes along the value Chain, their interaction and impact on Operational results
• Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and Continuous Improvement (5S, Six Sigma)
• Strong oral and written communications
