The goal for a performance monitoring and optimizing engineer is to ensure the monitoring capabilities on Intel SOCs are of maximal use for performance engineers and software developers. The daily work for this job involves computer engineering, not developing software.
This role works on a wide variety of tasks, have many opportunities for growth and specialization, and collaborate extensively with a community both internal and external to Intel.
**Responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:
- Pre-Si co-design of perform events,
- Developing methodologies for using events to characterize system performance.
- Providing training and expertise to internal or external monitoring users.
- Debugging HW Observation issues in Intel analysis tools.
- Influencing the direction of future HW observability technologies on our platforms, and developing software infrastructure, tests, tools, and prototypes needed to support the above tasks.
**Qualifications**:** Minimum qualifications,**
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1+ years in scripting, maintaining, or coding software.
- 1+ years of experience in performance analysis, performance validation or performance optimization experience.
- Advanced English level.
- Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico.
**Preferred qualifications,**
- Deep knowledge of Intel system architecture, microarchitecture, and ISA.
- Experience working in pre-silicon or with performance simulators.

**Working Model**:
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. **In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.**
