Mitie are seeking a dynamic and experienced plumber to join their Hard FM Team providing service delivery to the MoD estate on Ascension Island.

Job objectives and responsibilities
- Working independently or in a team, delivering PPM and Reactive delivery
- Deliver tasks to a professional standard, right first time
- Follow and comply with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, at all times including Regulations, Guidance and ACOP's
- Attend Tool box talks, stop work if unsafe or unsure
- Complete maintenance and reactive work orders, test malfunctioning equipment, identify defects, repairing equipment, and replacing defective parts
- Collaborate and communicate with the M&E team to assist identification and resolution of problems
Main Duties
- To hold the a Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating (6189-11) or Level 3 Diploma in domestic plumbing and heating (6189-31), Unvented hot water storage systems (G3 certificate), Water Reg's 1999, L8 treatment operators course.
- PWTAG Operators course for swimming pools, desirable
- Carry out installation and maintenance tasks on equipment or systems following manufacturers/task instructions, drawings and diagrams
- Understand procedures complying to hot and cold water services, follow H&S Policy, fill out paperwork, learning installation and maintenance practices
- Use and understand test equipment, using digital equipment and tools, understand limitations
- Ensure that high standards of housekeeping are maintained during and after work
- Carry out legionella tasks, generated from the legionella risk assessment, implement and record results, notify of any defects or out of scope results
Person Specification
- Self-motivated, well organised with a desire to learn and communicate
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, confident to speak up as required if in doubt
- Possess the ability to understand drawings and procedures
- Have knowledge of CWS and HWS systems, plant
- Treat all with respect on gender, race or religion
- Be a role model of reliability, behaviour and appearance
Health and Safety responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
- Report actual and suspected security incidents;
- Mitie will pay a salary, monthly site allowance and a bonus at the13th and 27th month.
Hours of work are 47.5 per week.
The contract duration is 27 months unaccompanied with 74 days leave excluding weekends.
Air/sea transport for agreed holiday periods will be at Company's expense.

Ascension Island (ASCN 1ZZ)- Full Time- Notice period 2 months- Hours worked per week - 47.5hrs- 74 days leave excluding weekends.
