**Job Title**:
Manufacturing Engineer
**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
The manufacturing engineer leads the activities to resolve challenges across manufacturing, engineering, quality, test, and safety. He or she will also lead the setup and programming of any test equipment to ensure product quality is maintained throughout the various processes.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Provide support to operations to address problems relating to efficiency, quality, safety, and resources.
- Act as liaison between engineering, quality, manufacturing, and test for efficient production and testing.
- Analyze existing processes, designs, and layouts to determine areas of waste and safety hazards.
- Drive continuous process and manufacturability improvement with cross-functional teams with near-term and long-term targets.
- Work directly with operations, procurement, engineering, and suppliers to identify, understand, and correct discrepancies with design, processes, and/or components.
- Develop tools to capture and monitor process control and performance
- Facilitate improvement efforts for manufacturing processes
- Support a variety of in-house organizations in continual improvement, problem investigations, safety, and documentation
- Crosstrain machine and equipment operators on set up, operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Establish and update work instructions for manufacturing and testing as needed
- Identify tooling, fixturing, and equipment needs for manufacturing processes
**Qualifications**:
- 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Have an extensive understanding of electrical components, mechanical concepts, fixturing, and Lean manufacturing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio. Familiarity with Microsoft Access and SharePoint is a plus.
- Driven individual with a high sense of urgency to deliver results
**Essential Skills**:
- Practical experience with Lean manufacturing, process improvement, manufacturing systems, equipment maintenance, and data analysis
- Prioritization, time management, and organization skills are critical
- Excellent oral and written communication skills at several technical levels
- Possess the ability to work under minimum supervision, work well with other departments, and lead improvement team efforts.
