**Overview**:
The Systems Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the requirements of the functional safety standard, following ISO 26262, and for the evidence that the safety goals have been achieved.
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Planning and performing of organizational activities for Functional Safety issues in coordination with other domains (preparation and updating of project safety plan and creation and preparation of the safety case, including planning of following activities).
- Creation and adaptation of the Safety Concept with all involved stakeholders.
Support the disciplines in specifying of their functional safety requirements.
- Maintain a strong cooperation with the Quality department (with respect to process and release of project and product).
- Tracking of implementation status and perform the FS risk assessment for each delivery release.
- Initiation, scheduling, organization and execution of Functional Safety Reviews with the FSM Assessor.
- Coaching the project team in FS process
- Agree safety responsibilities with stakeholders (customer and/or suppliers)
- Identification of change requests regarding functional safety, the evaluation of their consequences and the planning of necessary actions.
- The Systems Functional Safety Engineer reports to the Line Manager FS and the FSM-Business Unit.
- Interaction with customer to align requirements and clarify concerns
**Qualifications**:
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years experience in automotive industry
- Familiar with basic automotive development/quality process
- Excellent communication, team and presentation skills.
- Be able to work in distributed global team environment
- Experience in requirements engineering/management process
- Able to learn to work with new technologies and systems
- Excellent engineering analysis/analytical ability
- General knowledge of automotive electronic sensor/module/systems
- Proficient in the use of written and spoken English, with a focus on technical topics.
- Knowledge in ISO26262, IEC61508, and/or Automotive SPICE
Additional Requirements
- 5 years professional experience in Automotive Electronic Products or Systems
- Experience in driver assistance or other safety electronic products.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Experience with software lifecycle management tools such as PTS/MKS Integrity
- Experience with FMEA methods and tools (such as APIS IQ FMEA)
