The System Engineer (SE) is responsible to specify and design ADAS products.
The System Engineer interfaces with multiple internal and external stakeholders in order to understand the various levels of requirements, the viable technologies and anticipated development.
SE has to consider and align with the system levels above and below his role assignment in the project.
**Core Responsibilities**:
1.
Projects Acquisition
- Supporting Engineering Quote Manager in the quotation process
- Responsible for the systems engineering quote work products
2.
Customer and Internal Requirements Management
- Import customer specifications into requirements management tool
- Generates and maintains a list of internal and customer specifications, including analysis and evaluation of the requirements.
- Assess and edit continuous Design changes from internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinates the management of requirements together with the other R&D disciplines
- Create and update Requirements Metrics
- Ensures a complete and released set of requirements on System level for the product/platform

Requirements Development
- Create System Requirements based on technical conditions and a delivery plan
- Discuss functions with the customer and implement Design Change Requests.
- Perform System Requirements Reviews and Releases
- Clarify and refine customer requirements, involve internal stakeholders and work out implementations based on technical aspects
- Define advanced functionality and work out deviations between requirements and quote documentation

System Architecture
- Develops the system architecture (ECU) in alignment with RD Disciplines and define interfaces with other vehicle systems
- Create/Support a System FMEA (ECU Level)
- Support in acquisition process

Systems Lead activities/Technical Lead activities
- Leads the planning of all system engineering activities according to customer/internal milestones, required scope and quality.
- Leads the system design definition and alignment of customer expectation/requirements in the quotation phase and successive project phases (incl.
customer communication)
- Plans & controls the creation of SE work products within the assigned system level.
- Defines the plan for managing the SE effort and methods
- Act as technical interface to the customer for systems engineering related topics
- Ensures traceability of requirements incl.
safety & security goals to system level above and below as well as to verification and validation
- Plans and executes system engineering MLC's according to defined schedule
**Qualifications**:
Necessary Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years experience in automotive industry
- Familiar with basic automotive development/quality process
- Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills.
- Be able to work in distributed global team environment
- Experience in requirements engineering/management process
- Able to learn to work with new technologies and systems
- Excellent engineering analysis/analytical ability
- General knowledge of automotive electronic sensor/module/systems
- Proficient in the use of written and spoken English, with a focus on technical topics.
Additional Desirable Requirements
- 5 years professional experience in Automotive Electronic Products or Systems
- Experience in driver assistance or other safety electronic products.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Experience with software lifecycle management tools such as PTS/MKS Integrity
- Experience with FMEA methods and tools (such as APIS IQ FMEA)
- Experience with architecture tools such as Raphsody & Sys UML
