.Principal Data Engineer-220007IP**Applicants are required to read, write, and speak the following languages**: English, Spanish**Preferred Qualifications****Principal Data Engineer Job Description**:The Advanced Insight Team is a function of GBU Planning & Scalability Engineering. Working with our business partners across GBU Engineering, we architect and engineer an ecosystem of data structures and business intelligence analytics. We are looking for a self-motivated, resourceful, and articulate Principal Data Engineer to contribute to internal information system-specific projects. This individual will work to help improve operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance in support of the organization. We are a globally distribute team and you have the flexibility to work from home.You'll work in an Agile environment and will contribute to building data pipelines used to develop models and dashboards for executive stakeholders. You will implement methods to improve data reliability, combining raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats. You will develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling. To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking, be enthusiastic about data-driven decision making, and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.**Job Responsibilities will include**:- Daily use of programming languages and tools, specifically SQL, PL/SQL, & Oracle APEX- Oracle Analytics Cloud- Design database tables and structures- Create views, functions, and stored procedures- Create database triggers for use in automation- Maintain data quality and oversee database security- Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality- Deploy sophisticated analytics & dashboards- Prepare data pipeline for Data Scientists- Use data to discover tasks that can be automated**Required Qualifications**:- Strong SQL coding: proven aptitude at queries, report writing, and database architecture- Strong knowledge of, and experience with, reporting services & visualizations- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy- Written and spoken fluency in English- BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major- Minimum of 7-years work experience in a technical role**Preferred Qualifications**:- Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional- Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science- 5+ years experience in software engineering, data analysis, or database administration- 1+ years experience as an APEX developer**Job Code Description**Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment.
