Software developers in the Database Upgrade team often collaborate with other development groups throughout the Database organization and the rest of the company, to provide support for other features and products. They may speak with DBAs from internal and external customers, occasionally interfacing with developers as well, to understand customer requirements and use cases. Developers will also work with groups like Oracle Support Services to address production issues when needed.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- 6+ years of experience in software development
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Deep understanding of relational database technology, with knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals a significant plus
- Development experience with PL/SQL, C, Java
- Familiar with concurrency and parallel programming along with deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deliver effectively in a team setting as well as independently
- Understanding of Unix-like operating systems
- Docker and Kubernetes knowledge is also valuable (but not required) for this position
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands co-ordination spanning multiple time zones
