Participate in new processes for the manufacture of new products. Lead manufacturing improvement initiatives, including variability reduction, defect reduction, and process control improvement.
Responsibilities and Tasks of the Position: Plan, organize, and execute work-streams on projects to deliver process improvement.Evaluate process cost, quality, and capability alternatives; institute continuous improvements to existing manufacturing operations through process automation/semi-automation.Project work scope typically includes equipment selection (design, development), manufacturing installation, start-up, and acceptance (Pilot, Pre-Pro Runs & EEM).Role includes individual contributor and project work-stream leadership responsibilities.Develop and update manufacturing process documentation (MPIs, VAs).Work with and facilitate alignment between manufacturing, development, and upstream process experts.Manage internal Corning resources to complete project deliverables.Improvements interface with suppliers to deliver fully, on-budget and fulfilling the technical scope when appropriate.Apply knowledge of engineering principles and methods to resolve challenges.Utilize basic statistical tools, engineering data, and DMAIC/DESGN/Lean methodologies to develop process understanding to support robust manufacturing processes.Support execution of roadmap and project portfolio.Elaborate/propose product and process improvement qualification plans. Complete process technical reports for internal publication.Education: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering or related.Work Experience: 2 - 4 years experience in manufacturing engineering.Additional Skills: Yellow Belt Certification (Plus).Corning Puts YOU First!
