For more than 160 years, Corning has applied its unparalleled expertise inspecialty glass, ceramics, and optical physics to develop products that have created new industries and transformed people's lives.Corning succeeds through sustained investment in R and D, a unique combination of material and process innovation, and close collaboration with customers to solve tough technology challenges.Process EngineerSUPERVISOR:Process Engineering SupervisorDEPARTMENT:Metal FabricationDescriptionThe Sheet Metal Fabrication Engineer provides day:To:Day technical engineering support to the fabrication manufacturing shop floor to ensure metal fabrication processes are operating optimally and to meeting customer requirements.**Responsibilities**:General:Create and update manufacturing procedures making sure they are in line to maximize process efficiency (shop floor layout, workflow, and assembly methods).:Provide engineering support to the shop floor for troubleshooting and resolving product and process related problems:Define and implement manufacturing cost reduction and product improvement projects as part of a continuous improvement methodology.:Evaluate and coordinate manufacturing process improvements (product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, quality control).:Support the review of New Product Introduction engineering documentation (prints, process instructions) to ensure they comply with the agreed guidelines for manufacturability, quality, cost, operating specifications,
