The engineering services may include equipment specification, process design, and process development/improvement. The Process Engineer evaluates and recommends new process technologies that optimize performance, are cost-effective, and will improve product quality and manufacturing techniques. Successfully executes projects or areas of large projects and provides significant contributions to project teams, and may lead multi-functional teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReview existing data to see if more research and information needs to be collated, and assess the adequacy of the existing processes and equipment.Design, install and commission new production units, monitor development of modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.Apply the principles of mass, momentum, and heat transfer to process and equipment design.Conduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratory.Prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts.Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of a plant.Ensure the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs.Make observations and take measurements directly, collect and interpret data from the other technical and operating staff involved.Assume responsibility for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of processes and process plant.Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations.Liaise with other process engineers, perhaps working on associated plants.Work closely with other specialists, including: Personnel responsible for quality control of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.Engineers responsible for plant maintenance.Commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules.The operating crew
