Process Engineer
Location: Juárez, Nuevo León BASIC FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Genl Supvr- Kilns & Spray, Plant III, this position is responsible for providing engineering support to production areas, identifying and improving areas of opportunity in production processes or products. As well as, developing and maintaining project-engineering programs consistent with sound engineering practices, KOS principals and company policies, so the facility will operate without interruption and will meet its production and cost objectives.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Provide engineering assistance for daily production, quality control, problem solving, cost reduction and meeting delivery schedules.Oversee production processes and suggest changes in working methods or operation sequences in order to assure an adequate operation and improve efficiency.Support the maintenance department in maintaining and troubleshooting the manufacturing process, tools and dies.Develop and maintain control over labor standards in complex operations.Assist in providing associates training as required and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.Monitor and keep track of the different metrics of the plant.Assist in the implementation of the Kohler Operating System (KOS).Promote continuous improvements in safety, quality and cost in the plant operations.Develop quality projects through Lean Manufacturing tools in order to achieve cost reduction and improve results in the areas.Support teamwork in order for them to follow up on the established methods, once the projects have been implemented.Comply with the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position (See Responsibilities chart by position). RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships:
Report to the General Supervisor dotted line with Supt-Pottery, Monterrey Plant III.
Organization Relationships:
Frequent contact with Quality and Production departments and Foremen. Moderate contact with factory employees. Frequent contact with General Supervisors. Works in conjunction with Wis. Support areas, such as: Excellence Team and Vitreous Support teams.
External Business Relationships:
Moderate contact with tooling and machine vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION:
Preference Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
Preference minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in a manufacturing operation employing lean system.
FORMATION:
Preference working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based software applications. Bilingual skills preferred.
