MANUFACTURING ENGINEERPOSITION SUMMARY:A Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and maintains methods, tools, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. They interface with Design, Test, and Reliability Engineering to create successful product launches and to solve problems. They sustain products with cost reduction and yield improvements.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Support to and implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools (SMED, one piece flow, manufacturing cells, self-directed teams, kan-ban, 5's, etc.)Continues quality improvements and elimination of non-value added activities.Active participation in improvements of manufacturing metrics.Manufacturing line and/or cells balancing according to TAKT time.Identification and development of project utilizing Six Sigma tools.Complete documentation of the manufacturing process.Knowledge of products and company systems.To request, generate, validate and/or implement ECR's and ECN's.Support to new products introduction and/or prototypes.Team work and support to other departments as required.To select, specify, recommend and/or design of tools and equipment.Manufacturability issues identification (DFM).To work with related corporate personnel as necessary.To generate applicable reports and charts.Training to colleagues, technicians, facilitator, operators when required or necessary.Support to generation of PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.Failure analysis and/or evaluation of defects for continuous improvement.Planning and coordination of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for manufacturing equipment.Generation, analysis and/or update of standard times.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Manufacturing Engineers regularly work in office, lab, and manufacturing facilities. Travel to international vendor, manufacturing, and/or development locations may be required.SKILLS:Must have strong problem-solving attributes. Skilled at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.EXPERIENCE:Essential:Experience in Electronic Industry.Six Sigma Certification is a plus.Electronic Manufacturing and Components Fabrication.Coating and encapsulation/potting automation.Desirable:Experience in fabrication of Magnetic and wiring.Greater than 5 years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support.EDUCATION:Essential:Bachelors Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.Desirable:6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology.#J-18808-Ljbffr
