Job DescriptionThe Procurement Buyer provides category and strategic support to one of the major spend categories. This position is responsible for managing raw materials regionally and typically reports to a Procurement Manager or Sr. Procurement Manager.ResponsibilitiesLead by example in regional and global safety and ethical initiatives.Manage day-to-day activities within designated supplier relationships for existing suppliers in their assigned categories.Manage service level and quality complaint resolution as required for the existing supplier base.Identify, communicate, and support process improvements for materials or services in assigned areas with key stakeholders as required.Use sourcing strategy processes and tools to effectively manage assigned sub-categories.Execute and propose sourcing strategies and savings projects within assigned sub-categories.Act as a second line of defense in expediting orders to ensure adherence to contracted delivery terms and investigate and resolve problems as required.Identify alternate suppliers and/or alternate materials/processes and drive the approval process.Own the contract process for the assigned category, ensuring contracts are updated, accurate, and uploaded in the required contract system.Be responsible for financial reporting of savings projects and headwinds, managing the tight materials process to ensure security of supply.Support Symrise's quality systems through engagement with suppliers to work toward successful corrective action resolution and continued quality.Lead savings projects, sourcing strategy processes, or other initiatives that support achieving team goals.Work proactively on cost trend defining drivers and follow market trends.Knowledge and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience.3 - 5 years of experience.After spending 1-2 years in this position, an associate will have the following key experiences:Exposure to the sourcing strategy process.Enabler of net structural savings.Supplier interaction to resolve day-to-day issues (e.G., quality/service level concerns).Beginning negotiation skills.Actively influencing to impact process and results.Analyze, identify, and drive savings.Job Reference: LA01674#J-18808-Ljbffr
