Provide leadership, strategic thinking and expertise for Metals and Soft Goods categories to advance Baxter Global Business Units (GBUs) mission agenda "Sustain and Save Lives".Main Responsabilities:1. Develop, lead, and maintain an in-depth global market knowledge of assigned commodities/ supplier technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries: including cost drivers, global execution, to leverage across multiple manufacturing locations, and to understand specific supply issues.2.. Act as a resource to operations teams, and others, using procurement knowledge.3. Define global subcategory segmentation and recommend best consolidation strategy to leverage business volumes.4. Responsible for definition and implementation of assigned commodity strategy based on knowledge of regional markets, suppliers, and plants.5. Analyze and calculate most competitive manufacturing costs based on market trends and suggest strategies to decrease expenditure, including transfer office.6. Create and drive cost saving opportunities through competitive bidding, supplier development, continuous improvements, transfer office, etc., to meet established VIP goals.7. Act as a change agent to improve and monitor suppliers' performance through continuous improvements activities.8. Review supplier performance to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery) Ensure timely resolution of all disputes.9. Negotiate purchase price, contract terms and conditions to deliver on spend cover by contracts.10. Support SWAT team in supplier recovery plan and disaster periods.11. Negotiate/Recoup all costs associated with rejects/defects, expedites, or shortages.12. Work with critical suppliers to improve current performance and develop new opportunities.13. Participate/lead cross functional teams to successfully drive complex sourcing projects.14. Effectively manages long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.15. Support of business objectives for cycle/response time, quality assurance, technology/new product development, risk mitigation, and total cost
